George Hamilton IV Takes On Fuel Prices

George Hamilton IV, known as the International Ambassador to Country Music, has recorded a parody of his own 1963 hit, "Abilene," about the rising gas prices in the United States.

The parody, "Gasoline," was penned by Scott Thoen and Hamilton's son, George Hamilton V.  The elder Hamilton performed the song on the Grand Ole Opry stage to great reception, and the track has since hit U.S. radio and is available for download at iTunes, eMusic and mTracks.

"The thing is, it's not the kind of song that makes people angry but rather the reverse, it makes them laugh," Hamilton IV explains.  The father/son duo has taken the song across the Atlantic, on a festival tour through Eastern Europe. "It was a great honor and real joy to be back in Eastern Europe and in a brand new role… as a warm-up act for George V”, said the elder Hamilton.
